Greywithers Muse Journal

An original 5x7 inch, mixed media, hardcover, coptic hand-bound Muse Journal.

This Muse Journal is inspired by an antique toy horse I collected many years ago and named "Greywithers". His image is on the front cover - an image transfer with an added piece of collage overtop, then pearl mica pushed through a stencil. The back cover is an image transfer with the small horse collaged over top and more pearl mica. You can see an image of a horse painting in the transferred photo too. I love the aged look of this art journal.

Making books with paintings for covers is a great way to marry my two loves - books and art. I make these books with a Coptic binding because I love the look of the painted spine wraps AND because the binding allows it to lie flat while you work inside... beautiful and practical!
